Francassins – Round 3, Game 2 (Perfect Timing on Charleroi)#
Map: Battle of Charleroi • Mode: World Domination • Result: 1st Place
Round 3, Game 2 of Francassins — and this was the one I needed to secure.
The setting? Battle of Charleroi with progressive cards, stable portals, no fog, and no alliances. Every move was visible. Every mistake could be punished.
And in the end, I played it perfectly.

Game Breakdown#
🧱 Opening – Controlled Spread, No Threat#
I didn’t chase early bonuses. Instead, I spread out, built quiet stacks, and avoided aggression. Red was aggressive early — the same player who took me out in Game 1 — so I kept my distance and positioned defensively.
I made sure to hold a portal from the beginning. Not for offense — for survival.
⚙️ Mid-Game – Portal Play and Threat Management#
As players stacked and circled each other, the match entered a classic progressive deadlock. Nobody wanted to go first. I rotated my stacks, maintained visibility, and ensured I couldn’t be taken out cleanly from any angle.
Red stayed threatening throughout. I held firm — never the weakest, never the strongest — always just enough.
⚡ Endgame – Card Advantage and Pressure-Tested Execution#
The final rounds were a pressure test. We were fairly even in troop count and territory control, and neither of us wanted to blink first. It became a war of attrition — a standoff where both players tried to take each other out within the 60-second turn window.
I stayed disciplined, holding strong positions near portals and waiting for the right moment. Then it came.
My opponent had three cards but couldn’t redeem. I had a set ready.
That changed everything.
I swept through the map with speed and precision. My opponent simply had no answer. The difference wasn’t just my cards — it was timing, preparation, and execution.
Key Lessons from This Match#
- 🕰️ Pick your moment. Don’t strike early unless it’s guaranteed.
- 🌀 Own a portal. In the late game, stable portals are king.
- 🃏 Cards > Bonuses. A set at the right time beats income.
- ⚡ Speed matters. You only get 60 seconds. Know your path. Execute it.
Final Thoughts#
This was one of my best all-around performances in Francassins so far.
I spread carefully, stayed composed, and didn’t blink in the final pressure turns.
One point on the board — two in total — and a strong shot at the finals.
