Zombie World Championship 2025 – Qualifier (World Conquest)#

For the Zombie World Championship 2025 Qualifier, we dropped into a fog-drenched World Conquest match with progressive cards, no alliances, and a map crawling with undead.

This was just the qualifier β€” all I had to do was turn up to advance β€” but I treated it like a practice run for Round 1, which uses the same settings. I wanted to test my pathing awareness, troop distribution discipline, and how well I could read zombie movement under fog. It ended up being one of the cleanest games I’ve played in a while.

🧠 Game Summary#

I drew a favorable starting position in Australia, which gave me an early bonus and time to build without interference. To the north were zombies, to the west a bot β€” perfect buffers.

From the start, I relied on the Friends of Risk zombie pathing maps to predict movements and plan safe expansions. This allowed me to maintain control, avoid overextension, and time my kills precisely. After some midgame fumbling with Yellow’s stack, I pulled off a clean streak of eliminations and swept the zombies for a confident win.

πŸ’ Final Thoughts#

Even though this was just a qualifier, the win felt great. I took the opportunity to sharpen my zombie meta awareness, tested out a few positioning strategies under Fog of War, and left with a clear path forward for Round 1.

This match gave me the confidence that I can compete under these settings and make smart, strategic plays even against strong opponents. Let's see how Round 1 plays out β€” but if I can replicate this, I’ll be in good shape.
