Zombie World Championship 2025 – Round 1 (World Conquest)#

This was it — Round 1 of the Zombie World Championship 2025. Coming off a clean win in the qualifier, I entered this match feeling confident. The map was World Conquest. The mode? Full Zombie Apocalypse. Progressive cards. Fog of War. No portals. No alliances. Just chaos.

And it went sideways.

I spotted what I thought was a clean kill opportunity on Orange and made the call—line up the stacks, go for the bounty, and ride the momentum. But Fog had other plans. Orange wasn’t where I thought they were. My troops were out of position, and just like that, the zombies did the rest.

Despite the early elimination, this match gave me valuable insight into the pacing of fog zombie games, especially on such a wide map. Here’s a look at how it all played out:

💭 Final Thoughts#

Would I make the same move again? Maybe. In zombie mode, scoring even one bounty can shift your tournament momentum. But in this case, the risk wasn’t worth it.

There’s still time to recover and many rounds ahead. This one may have gone down as a loss, but it sharpened my sense of timing and taught me to respect the Fog. I’ll be back stronger in the next round.
